University of Thessaly project team presents EU-DRIVE, highlighting European project synergies
Event
Strengthening synergies for local resilience in Greece!
On 28 September 2026, the Centre for European Projects of the University of Thessaly presented the EU-DRIVE project during the field visit of the initiative Cities 4ELLA in Karditsa.
The Cities 4ELLA project, funded under the EU’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV-Town), brings together European cities to prevent and combat gender-based violence, support survivors' labor market integration, and foster local administrative cooperation across borders.
The opportunity to present EU-DRIVE and highlight synergies
During the visit, representatives from the University of Thessaly showcased EU-DRIVE’s mission to advance skills and vocational excellence in Disaster Risk Management (DRM), civil protection, and climate resilience. The presentation emphasized the crucial role of multi-stakeholder collaboration—linking education and training providers, local authorities, emergency services, and community-level stakeholders.
The event offered a constructive platform to:
- Exchange knowledge and operational insights across distinct European funding programs (Erasmus+ and CERV).
- Explore localized community needs, particularly in building resilient, inclusive, and sustainable social infrastructure.
- Strengthen inter-project synergies to foster stronger local governance and emergency response capabilities.
