Project Summary

EU-DRIVE (European Upskilling in Disaster Resilience and Innovation in Vocational Excellence) is a European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) ERASMUS-EDU-2025-PEX-COVE project under Grant Agreement no.101260905, with a duration of 4 years and a total maximum EU contribution of approximately 4 million euros.

The project officially started on the 1st of April 2026, and it is coordinated by the European University Cyprus through its Centre of Excellence in Decision Sciences, CERIDES

Project Objective

Leveraging the consortium’s strong territorial roots and thematic expertise in wildfires, floods, drought, and cross hazard resilience, the project will design modular curricula, deliver simulation-based training, and implement Work-Based Learning (WBL) in real operational settings. It will issue micro-credentials, integrate cutting-edge technologies like VR and GIS, and engage stakeholders in policy roundtables and knowledge exchange.

EU-DRIVE aims to enhance the skills pipeline into the DRM sector, especially in the public workforce, while supporting systemic innovation in VET. Ultimately, the project sets a scalable, sustainable model of vocational excellence in disaster resilience for Europe.

Vision / Objective

Create a network of sustainable vocational excellence centres through establishing 5 Regional CoVEs in climate-vulnerable areas in Southern Europe, where disaster risks are most acute.

Associated Partners

The project's four associated partners  reinforce its relevance, territorial embeddedness, and long-term impact. Their involvement ensures that the project’s design and implementation are informed by frontline operational realities, labour market needs, and community-based resilience priorities. These partners will contribute to piloting, hosting work-based learning placements, participating in regional policy dialogues, and amplifying dissemination through their established networks. They represent the vital link between training provision and real-world disaster risk management ecosystems.
